Beautiful Easter sunrise service at Kennesaw mountain.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?
John 11: 25-26

A beautiful song for Good Friday.

“It is finished.”

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream
thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be til I die.

If individuals live only seventy years, then a state, or a nation, or a civilization, which may last for a thousand years, is more important than an individual. But if Christianity is true, then the individual is not only more important but incomparably more important, for he is everlasting and the life of a state or a civilization, compared with his, is only a moment.

To piggyback on Rose’s latest post, this has been my #1 jam the past two weeks.

Langhorne- be mine!

Tina: You know what my new favorite thing is? I keep noticing pictures in magazines of a lot of the young celeb-y girls smiling like this. And if you really look - you don’t notice it in the picture, but if you really look at how open their mouths are, it’s like, when have you ever in your life been so happy that you smiled like this?

Meet my reasons why life is grand (currently).

So, if you have been asking yourself (i doubt you were) “Has nursing school completely eaten Margaret Rose alive???”

The answer is yes.

School has been non-stop since spring break.  I feel like I’ve done nothing but study and go to the hospital (give or take a baseball game or two that I attempted to study at).  My tests tore me up.  And in clinicals, I’ve been known to attract bodily fluids during the past two weeks (insert pee and poop stories here).

But today is good a good day. Why?

  • I got more than 6 hours of sleep last night.  That’s super exciting for me.
  • I got things done this morning.  Today was the day that I finally unpacked from spring break.  I have issues with unpacking.  (remember this?) When I come back from trips and wash my dirty clothes I always put them back in my suitcase.  Don’t ask me why.  But let it be known that today my suitcase is empty and my clothes are in their rightful places.
  • And that brings me to right now… it’s raining, my windows are open (rainy smell: GET IN MY ROOM), I’m reading some CS, drinking coffee, and listening to Langhorne Slim.  I also have plans to go antiquing later this afternoon.  Life. Is. Grand.

Langhorne who? you ask…let me just say, he’s pretty swell.  Amanda and I are pretty obsessed right now.  Picture this:  you are driving down the street and pick up a smelly hitchhiker with a guitar.  He begins to play music.  That’s Langhorne Slim. And we think his music is WONDERFUL.

Dear friends, I hope your day has been grand as well.

Amen.  Let’s take overly-used, unbiblical, “Christianese” out of our language.

PS: I would add “That was totally a God thing!” to this list.

Bob Dylan’s first album was released 50 years ago today.  Amanda and I both grew up listening to him (the real thing and impromptu dylan covers from both of our fathers). Fun fact: Amanda’s dad played this song for me and my proud papa at my graduation party. Needless to say, we’re pretty big fans.  Last week I watched this movie about the many different lives of the legend. It was awesome.  I recommend it.
